Compositing & integration

About Compositing & integration

VFX compositing services combine elements from different sources into a single, believable image: live-action plates, CG renders, green screen footage, matte paintings and simulation passes. Compositing is the step that makes integration invisible, matching light, grain, defocus and color between the CG and the photography. Film and series productions, music video directors, ad agencies and brands placing a 3D product into live footage all rely on it during post-production. This specialty belongs to the Film, Animation & VFX category on hi-3d.

Compositors work mostly in Nuke, sometimes in After Effects or Fusion, and handle green and blue screen keying, rotoscoping, tracking, cleanup and paint, CG integration and color grading in DaVinci Resolve. You receive final shots as EXR or DPX sequences, ProRes files or whatever delivery spec your production calls for, with color management respected, often ACES. To work efficiently, the artist needs original-quality source plates, CG render passes, camera and on-set data, lighting reference and a detailed shot list. If a shot was filmed with integration in mind, tracking markers and a clean plate make the work much smoother.

On hi-3d, browse compositing and integration services, compare reels with before-and-after breakdowns, rates and turnaround, then invite the artist suited to your shot count. Work in the project conversation follows a familiar post-production rhythm: first versions, shot-by-shot notes, revision rounds and delivery of the finals. Reviewing at full resolution, with clear shot names and version numbers, keeps feedback precise.

Ask for shot breakdowns in the reel, since they reveal what the artist actually did, from the raw plate to the final frame. On a series or feature, giving a consistent block of shots to the same compositor keeps the integration style uniform.
